In the weekend when I used my turn signal to change lanes a weird
thing started to happen - the signal continued clicking for a few
seconds
after I turned it off. The lights  were not flashing only the clicking
sound. Anyone had this problem before? I would appreciate any help -
does anyone know where the flasher unit is located in these cars?

The Hazard switch needs to be replaced. The turn signal flasher and the
Hazard flasher is located in the Hazard switch. If your turn signals stop
blinking, just push slightly on the hazard swtich and they might start
working again. Thats how you know its the flasher unit thats bad. Other than
that, the bulbs and sockets tend to go bad. It's not fun to change it
either.

There was a recall on these hazard switches a while back... maybe you can
get one for free.
