I just installed an aftermarket radio but I can't get it to work, the
harness adapter came with an extra wire that said to use a fuse, which fuse
do I use, I tried the radio fuse but then the radio won't turn off with the
ignition and I tried a few other fuses but then the radio will turn off with
the ignition but won't keep its presets or audio settings or clock time.
Anyone know what I have to do to get this to work right?

Sounds like you have two wires reversed.  The one your working with now
needs to go to a constant hot, the other possibly red needs to go to the
radio fuse.  Most radios need both switched power (to work with the
key) and constant (to retain memory and such)

I have it so it works now, I used the cruise control fuse and it will retain
its presets now.  It just wont work on ACC only in RUN mode.

I may not have been clear about using a fuse, I mean it came with a metal
adapter that I put a fuse prong through and it draws power from the fuse
instead from the wiring harness because of the way GM does things I cant use
the factory wiring harness for the power.  Only the constant 12V
