Anyone know of the performance increases with a K&N filter on the Mailbu v6
2002?

I just installed one and am curious to know the real world performance
levels.

Thanks.

None. You'd need forced induction to see any sort of benefits. I'd put the
paper filter back on... wiht a K&N when you "recharge" it, some of the oil
may find its way into your air intake & fudge things up. Not worth it, IMO.
I've got a 4.6L V8 & notice no difference. Now on a forced induction car
(supercharged/turbocharged).. you may get a few HP. All of the "hp increase"
and "fuel mileage increase" is just marketing hype.

Yeah your right....you'll never notice 1-8 horsepower increase during
normal driving.  Put it on a dyno or on the quarter mile like you said in
your other response and you may see a 100th of a second decrease in time.

Old school thinking is sometimes best.

And exactly how often are you going to take your Malibu to the drag strip?
LMAO!!!!!!!!!
