Can anyone tell me the procedure for replacing the alternator in a 2001
Malibu.  I have done some basic mechanic work.  Is the belt the main issue
in doing the replacement?

You do not say whether you have a 2.4L 4  cylinder or 3.1 V6 cylinder
engine? Depending on the engine, the alternator mounts differently.
