Hi,

I've got a 98 Malibu LS with 32,000 miles (I don't drive much).
Yesterday the electrical indicator (looks like a red battery) on the
dash came on about a minute after I started the car. It comes on now
after a minute every time I start the car.

I'm thinking it can't be the battery, I just put in a new one about 3
months ago.

What are the likely causes for this?

Have the battery & alternator tested, but before you even do that... check
the battery terminals & make sure they are CLEAN (shiney silver) with no
battery acid "spunk" hehe. Clean them off real good & ensure they are real
tight & have good connections.

Have the alternator checked out at the local parts store ( Autozone,
AdvanceAuto Parts, etc ) They will check it for Free.
