I also had a coolant leak, which was traced back to the intakek
manifold gasket - fortunately, my mechanic was not a GM mechanic, and
knew that there was an aftermarket gasket that rectified the leak, as
the OEM ones still have the flaw. An expensive repair, but it's fixed
for good now - I've put over 50,000 km on the car since with no
problems.

To e honest it is not the gasket at all. I am a "GM Mechaic"" The
problem really is in how the factory and people who say they can fix it
do not torx the intake bolts down enough or use a thred sealer....Not
saying aftermarket isnt better...Most of the ones I have done has been
because the bolts loosen And in the block valley where the sealant blows
out and leake oil...Usually you will see it start after 50-60,000
miles...But on the other hand glad to hear youre is fine......

Howdy Steve
I've all ways used locktite blue/ with a rtf bead at the bolt head.
Had a prob with that one time when the bolt was a current path.
Datson thremastat elbow, water inlet with the temp senser threaded into it.
Cleaned it off and used aluminum grease on the threads instead.
I allways have to remember to leave a good ground return path for sensors.
