I replaced the lower intake manifold gaskets from GM and applied1/4in. bead
of rtv(black) to front and back. Used Haynes manual torque specs and
sequence. I don't have a coolant leak anymore however I noticed an oil
seep at the back of motor where the coolant used to leak. Definitely oil.
Is it seeping through the rtv bead or is there a gasket leak at the old
distributor hold down? Can anyone help? thanks
I need to replace my front hubs. They are making more noise every day.
I have the Haynes manual and have been studying it and the car to see
what I need to do the job. It looks like there is some kind of a lock
around the axle nut. The Haynes book does not say anything about it.
Does it get removed somehow or do I get a socket that will fit over it
and loosen the whole thing?

you should never have o replace an intake manifold gasket
Return the entire car to GM and demand your moneyback or file a class action
lawsuit.
There is NO EXCUSE for such shoddy engineering

OMG !!!!!!! A lawsuit you gotta be kidding me..
It is recommended to replace the O ring when replacing the lower intake
gaskets.BY GM Maybe not the Haynes Manual ..Also if you dont get all
oil and debris out of the block valley it will leak oil in a
heartbeat..Ive never seen a leak at the distruibutor port....Which is
where the O ring is....But way too often when do it yourselfers have
this very problem....Also RTV black is not what you seal the intake
with....Just goto your dealer as for some intake sealant around 4 or
5.00 do it all over agian and seal it right...Its a high pressure high
temp sealant ..The gasket kit should have come with a special sealant...
If it came with the black stuff you have a really cheap set and will
probly be doing this agian real soon....
