Repost- had to change subject line.

On my 2002 malibu, The A/C re-circulation button keeps going back to outside
air. When I first put on the air it goes to default mode ( outside air ).
But to get MAX air, I press re-circulate button. And it will work great for
a few minutes ( real cold ) but then it switches back to outside air in.
Some times it stays cool but other times the air gets  warmer..

Also I noticed that when the mode buttons lights are switching from outside
to inside. That the A/C button light goes off and on.

Have you had this problem?

Is there a damper or switch that can be replaced.

Thanks

Lewis

Hey Klinger, I ran across that site the other day. I looked around for a
book to get the bezel off.
You know the secret spot the tech only knows about. I didn't want to break
it.
Well I started with the two screws at the bottom. To the right of the
lighter and left of the ashtray.
Well that wasn't it, but I took a chance and started puling gently at the
bottom of the bezel and thing just started to come loose from their notches.
And it came off pretty easy, I worried allot about the bezel.

The rest is just a diagram you should make one and put it back the way you
took it apart. I used a lead pencil to do the PCB contacts. And cleaned the
brushes.

Well I put it back together and the thing works like a charm. Its a good
thing because we just went into a hot spell ( 96-98 )

I hope this helps someone else.

Thanks everyone.
