I just got back from the Chevy. Dealership by my house.  I informed them of the back problems while driving this car.  I then tried the new HHR in whick I figured out that the seat is much better than in the Malibu.
My 04 Malibu, the seat slants back so you are sitting right on your tailbone.  Not a flat bottom.
People with lower back problems should be ware if buying this car.
Anyone else experince this problem.

The 03 Malibu LS gave both my wife and I back pain on trips.  And neither of
us have back problems.

i drive many of them in my fleet duties and i gotta admit its the most
uncomfortable seating ive run into in many o'year........kjun

ps....and i cant tell you how many RF seat back trim plates ive replaced
for falling off. there new and improved retainers fall off worse than the
originals. cant wait to retire so i can find some humor in things like
that.

I have an 04 Malibu Maxx and commute 80 miles per day in it. I find the
seating wonderful. I have the 6 way power seat, plus I have adjustable
pedals and the tilt adjustment.

I have put 46,000 miles on my 04 Malibu Maxx in a year and a half.  I have
the same seat adjustments you do.  The seat is great.  I think the
complaints must be about the non-power adjustable seats.
