I was pulling  out from behind my house and as I was backing out, I
heard a couple of pops and I could hardly cut the wheel. So I checked
the power steering fluid and it was low. So I ran to the store bought
some and filled it up. Tried to get in the car and still very hard to
cut the wheel. My low battery light came on, when I had the car
running. I now there was a recall issued on the pinion of this car and
I have all ready had that fixed. Is there a chance that it is the
pinion? I also have been havingtrouble with my turn signals, sometimes
they work sometimes not, but when they do work, the right and left
work. These incidents are probably not tied into together. Anyone have
any thought?

my first thought.....when you mentioned 'low battery light' (actually low
system voltage) my first thought was such a low idle speed that the p/s
pump and alt. were not turning fast enuff. you might try leaving it in park
and raising idle speed with the gas pedal and seeing if dummy battery lamp
goes out and p/s assist returns........kjun

Actually, it was a belt. I don’t konw why I did not think of this,
because it happened to me before. Except last time it was a pulley,
this time it is a tension thing. I was able to drive it to a local
mechanic and they are working on it as we speak, thanks for thereply.
