Engine light

Hi,
I have a 2000 Malibu and the engine light has come up and doesn't go away.
The car runs smoothly and it seems nothing wrong with it. Recently it
started shaking when I'm driving it and also when I brake. Please help...

You need to get a code reader to find the reason the the engine light
came on - Sounds like your front brakes are gone - or  needs replacing
especially the rotors Malibus have a problem with this.

I've also got a '00 Malibu - that shaking in the front end is likely
your wheel bearings.  I'm on my 4th set now, with 192000 km on the car
