'98 won't start

I have a '98 that won't start and don't know what has happened. The
antitheft light has come on when I tried to start it the last time and all
that happens when I put the key in the ignition is the rpm gauge will
fluctuate from 0 to 5 grand, the cabin lights come on and the clock comes
on. I need help please!!!!

You most likely need a new ignition switch. It sounds like a typical
Malibu problem.

in cars with snti theft systems the car wont start when the thing goes off.
more than likely you will have to take to some one to reset your computer.
