I just picked up my new '04 Colorado Z71 tonight.  I am sooo happy.  It
drives like a dream!

Check your Colorado for a water leak, mine had a major water.

Lift up the front driver's side carpet and check the floor and under padding
for water.
Mine had a major water leak inside the cowling between the upper & lower
firewall.
No sealant was applied between the welded sheets which make up the upper &
lower
fire wall.  The water entered the cab behind the rubber padding on the
firewall
behind the brake pedal, and runs down behind the carpet to the floor area.
It takes
a long time to detect the leak, because the carpets will remain dry until
the under padding is
completely soaking wet and can no longer absorb the water, then it overflows
to the carpets.
I located the leak, the dealer was unable to locate it, or identify the
problem.

Other than the water leak, I haven't had any problems with my Colorado in 8
months

Hope yours doesn't have the same leak.

I'll keep that in mind.  It hasn't rained yet but I'm in England so it
will soon.  Thanks.

England...oh how I miss being there.  Rained every other day it seemed like
when I was there!  You British,  or a displaced American serving Uncle Sam?

Displaced American.  I don't mind it.
