"change engine oil" light comes on as soon as I start the engine on my 2001
chevy venture and stays on for about 30 to 50 secondes and the goes off. I
have change the oil but still comes on for 40 seconde and goes off. What
can I do to correct this problem?
ps. I always use the recommended oil for the engine.

it could be just a test of the system as long as it does not
stay on all the time. And when you do change the oil you
must reset change oil light

If the light stays on more than 5 seconds, it means you did not re-set the
light after you changed the oil.  How to do this is in your owners manual,
but if I recall correctly, you turn the ignition key on but do not crank the
engine, then press on the gas pedal 7 times within 30 seconds and the change
engine oil light should blink several times and then go out.
