Hi, All.
My Silverado (with only 72,000 miles) A/C is continuously cycling on and
off in 4-6 second increments regardless of interior temp. Can someone point
me in the right direction to troubleshoot. Thanks.
More knowledgeable people can probably tell you how to test the refrigerant
level, but it seems to me that after 16 years, it may need to be recharged.
From what I've read/heard about other vehicles AC systems low R134 or R14
(asI recall, 1990 was _about_ the time of the mandated change) may cause
this problem. Sorry, I don't have more information, I'm just watching this
group as I may buy a Chevy/GMC in the next year.

I have a 1990 Suburban (200,000+ miles) and while I can't diagnose your
problem, I can tell you that you have an R12 system (unless it's been
converted). If the system isn't low on freon, it could be a bad
pressure switch.
