After driving a long distance and shutting the engine off it doesn't want to
crank?
It's like the timing off, the engine turns VERY SLOW but always starts??
I have had to waite a few mints but it always starts?
2 new starters-new alt. and new battery!
Jasper engine with 20.000 miles!
I wonder if it's in vacuum advance?
Any advice

This is an old problem with chevy's.
There is a "Shim" that goes between the starter
and the block, yours is missing.
Drop by any good starter mechanic and have him give/get you one.
A lot of people lose them when they replace the starter. The problem
shows up only when its cold.
Problem is known as "Hot starter binding"

On the vehicles I've had (Chrysler) vac advance is for
accelerating.
I'd suggest to clean your battery clamps, and also trace the big
wires back and clean where the cbles go to the ground, and to the
starter. On the battery end, push the metal part out of the
plastic shroud, and clean em good with a wire brush.
