Guys, I know this question is off topic for a chev group, but you guys seem
to be able to come up with the answer to just about anything.
I am helping a friend with a B2600 mazda that quit on him.  We have replaced
the fuel pump, fuel pump strainer and fuel filter.  Fuel pressure is within
specs going into the fuel rail.  How do I check the injectors?  The fuel
pressure regulator is on the end of the fuel rail.  Could that be the
problem.
It will start on starting fluid or if I pour a couple tablespoons gas in the
intake and run until it burns that up.
After doing this 2 or 3 times it will continue to run, but will not take
fuel unless you accelerate slowly, even if you let it run until it is at
operating temp.  It is just like it is starving for gas.
Any help is appreciated!

Sounds like a faulkty wire running the injectors or something in the
computer...

I am not having too much good luck with my FI engine so take my advise for
what its worth.

Tell him to make sure he takes care with that head.  I own a 1989 B2600i
4x4. The head cracked one time. The cheapest head I could find cost
$1800.  One of those rebuilt motors from Autozone costs about $2200 and
that was without the head. They couldn't even get one.  Maybe his truck
is different. Something about the "i" after B2600 made it a different
motor. Anyhow, I know not related to your question. Just a warning to
Mazda owners not to let it overheat.

If it was mine I'd get the shop manual and probably check the injectors.
