350 chevy motor what is the normal voltage...

Output on one of their standard HEI coils?

   Some say 20K volts, others say 45K. I have heard more in the 40-45K.

BASE Stock run about 35K volts. HP GM coils run about 45K
The externals last a LOT longer since they are cooled better, But the
larger cap of the coil in cap type can handle a lot more voltage before
they burn up since the posts are farther apart.
