towing a heavy trailer and expelled quite alot of the stuff. i know
that can happen if it overheats. any advice b4 i take it in? is that

First off all, overheating tranny is not good and will shorten its
life though problems from it can occur now or at a later date. While I
am not a big believe in tranny flushing, I would get your flushed
since you cooked it to get old burnt fluid out. It take Dexron 3. Next
you really need a a aux tranny cooler if you tow and last you should
tow in drive but if you have a tall axle ratio it will ride converter
stall even in drive at 55MPH and lead to overheating at times. Look in
glove box for axle code and see if it is a GU4, GU5, GU6, GT4 or GT5.
The first two would suck at towing and the thrid would not do well
either but better than first too and if it is a GT4 or better you are
not to bad off in axle ratio unless you are running over sized tires
and then you need a GT5 minimum (4.10) for any kinda of towing power
at all.
