I have a 99 dodge intrepid, and I was comming home from work and it was
working fine until it warmed up. Then it will not shift out of low gear.
trouble code is 700. I changed the trans box but it still does the same
thing.
HELP!!!

P0700 is a generic code for the PCM that turns on the check engine light to
notify the owner that there is a fault with the trans. The fault code or
codes for the trans is stored in the TCM. So you need to get a scan tool and
read the codes in the TCM. If the code(s) indicate speed ratio errors in any
gear check the output from the Input Speed Sensor  and the Output Speed
Sensor as they have a high failure rate for multiple reasons.

Not sure what a trans box is.

Most likely a bad speed sensor causing it to go into limp mode wherein
it stays in 2nd gear.  If speedometer works when the problem is there,
then it is the input speed sensor; if speedometer does not work, it is
the output speed sensor.  Cheap fix: Part costs around $20 from dealer,
you can replace it yourself in about 20 minutes from underneath the car.
