I have a 1998 Chrysler Sebring Lxi V6 2.5L Automatic transmission,
with 53,325 miles ... Ever since I bought this car back in January, I
have noticed something like a slight loud noise, almost like a whining
noise, or a fan noise, the car only does it when I accelerate, and the
Tach reads 2000-2500 rpms, mostly louder at the 2200-2300 range, if I
accelerate past 2500, or let my foot off the gas and decelerate below
2000 the noise goes away, but always come back when the tach reaches
those speeds.. I had this car checked out by my mechanic right after I
bought it and everything checked out good underneath, with no problems
seen.. I have also just had the car in neutral and raised the speed up
to those rpms and it sounded fine with no problem.. just only when I
am driving on the road.. Anybody have any Ideas what the problem could
be... Also another problem I am having, more like an annoyance more
than anything is my low fuel light will not come on when I am low on
gas, I have had this car on the E Mark and still no light will kick
on, at first I thought it was a burned out bulb in the instrument
cluster so I pulled the instrument cluster and switched the bulbs
around to one that lights up when you turn the key to on, and the bulb
works.. so I know the bulb was good, what else could be causing the
Low Fuel light not to kick on..... Thanks for any and all
suggestions..
