Daniel what am i going to need to re-wire my headlamps (canadian/ u.s.) to
european quads. I've ordered the lights from vmaxx and wondered what i'll
have to splice since it is single bulb to dual lamps? Is this difficult job?
Thanks

What year / model are you dealing with? Without that information it's hard
to help.

Dohhhh! It's a 2003 Gr. Caravan.

The difference between a dual filament setup and a dedicated high or low
single filament is that the dual filament harness & plug has 3 leads;
high, low, and ground. The dedicated high or low single filament harness
has a single lead hot and a single lead ground. Not too difficult to get
a 3-wire plug pigtail that connects to the original wiring, and then
splice the hot lead of each (high/low) 2-wire plug to the respective hot
leads of the 3-wire plug. Then, either ground the remaining wires from
the 2-wire plugs directly to the chassis ground, or splice BOTH ground
wires to the remaining single wire on the 3-wire plug. Either will work
with a vehicle that has positive-switched lighting.

Sharon, let's not give improper advice, K? It's not nice, and it's not
helpful.

What's improper about it, Daniel? It works fine; I did a two-light to
four-light conversion nearly 2 years ago and it still works.

You left stuff out. Stuff like how to wire it so the lows stay on with the
highs, which is necessary on this particular conversion that the original
poster is doing.  You assumed he has a positive-switched system. You
advocated chassis grounds.

How did you get a hold of Vmaxx? I get no response to e-mails.

You have to e-mail them about 40 times to get a response! Vestatec (they
actually make the headlamps) was good, but they only sell to retailers
including Vmaxx. Startech is a hell of a lot better but they do not do
headlamps, and you cannot get wheels from them also (because of the laws in
Us regarding types of wheels). If you get no response from Vmaxx, I will
give you the e-mail to another competitor to Vmaxx, and they are good to get
stuff from.

hardware?

It is for the 03 Gr. Caravan. No hardware differences, Just wiring for a two
lamp system in the US to a four lamp system for Europe. The total was around
$750 after conversion with the euro. At least that is the total taken from
my account! the look great two.
