Removing the rear bumper / fender on a UK 99 Voyager

I want to install some reversing sensor to the above vehicle.

Does the rear bumper have a metal frame within the plastic moulding?
The reason is I need to thread the sensor wires around and along the
inside of the bumper and also drill 20mm holes in the bumper to fix
the sensors into it.

So at worst I will need to remove the rear bumber and fit them.

So can anyone explain how to remove teh bumper, or point me in the
direction of a diagram online somewhere.

Many thanks

I am not sure how UK bumper configurations compare to those of the U.S.
On most U.S. vehicles, there are two impact absorbers that are
connected to a steel bumper with a plastic cover. This plastic cover
usually needs to be removed to access the bolts holding the steel
bumper to the impact absorbers. The cover may be held on with bolts or
plastic rivets.

Do you need to drill holes into just the plastic cover, or into the
steel bumper? The strength of the steel bumper may be compromised if
this is done. I am curious to see what other posters have to say.

Kirk,

Thanks for the info. The sensors are approximately 20mm in dia and
similar in depth, so if the steel is more than 25mm away from the rear
of the plastic I'll not need to drill into the steel, however if the
steel is closer then I'll need to drill through both...

Anyone else?

Is this a DaimlerChrysler kit, or a general fits all vehicles kit? If it's a
DC kit, It should have a detailed instructions with Pics to do it. And in
that kit you do not drill thru the steel.  Anyways, call the number for
Customer Service for DaimlerChrysler, and tell them you purchased the DC kit
and there's no instructions with the kit, and the will mail them to you. You
can use those as instructions if it's a general kit too.
