WITHOUT THE MEASUREMENT OF HOW MUCH THE DRAIN IS WE
CANNOT HELP YOU, GO BACK TO YOUR AUTO ELECTRICIAN AND
ASK.  A GOOD BATTERY CAN SUPPORT A COUPLE HUNDRED mA
DRAIN WITHOUT DYING IN 12 HOURS, IF YOURS CAN'T THEN REPLACE
YOUR BATTERY

And quit shouting you effing idiot..

How about the most simple answer? pull the IOD fuse when the car is
going to sit for more than 12 hours.

pull the fuse no drain! thank me later! :-)

Hi...

Almost half an amp sounds like a real good number for a light
bulb...

Might be a worthwhile (and free) step to double check - go out after
dark and check that none are stuck on...  under hood light, glove box
light, trunk light, etc...

Just thinking out loud...

Insert a DVM configured as an ammeter in place of the fuse to the
memory IOD and tell us if the 400ma draw is coming from that circuit.

My guess is the memory IOD is drawing a more reasonable 20ma and
the big drain is elsewhere.  I think your auto electriacan screwed you over.
If he was at all a professional he would have followed the IOD circuit back
and tested at the iod itself to make sure it wasn't a chafed wire going to
the iod and not the iod itself, or a drain elsewhere.
