It could be anything, with the fuel system if it is the Evaporative fuel
leak codes.
Tell me something, when you put on the gas cap, do you turn it enough to get
at least two to three clicks from the cap? That tells you it is on properly.
Also It will take about 5 good long drives for the code to clear, if that
was the problem.

Yes, I am fairly certain it is not the gas cap. My wife and I filled up the
vehicle at the same time we put on the new gas cap. I clicked it more than
enough. 300 miles later is when the light reappeared. I am going to ask
around and see if anyone local has dealt with Chrysler fuel leak codes. If
not, I will just make an appointment and drive the 75 miles and have the
dealer look at it.
It is a shame, it is a 2002 with 31,267 miles on it. I told her that it is
not bad if the MIL is not blinking but she wants it fixed.

Until you can tell us what the code was there really isn't much anyone cam
tell you. if it is a "gas tank sensor" code, meaning sending unit it could
be a number of things.
If it is an evaporative leak you would have to perform a visual check of all
hoses, if there are no obvious problem then a smoke test will have to be
performed to find the leak.
