Fuse Issue: The Rest of the Story

My PT Cruiser's remote entry was not always doing its job. Changed batteries
did not help.

To resolve a radio power problem with a blown fuse, I wound up changing out
several fuses. After new items were in place I noticed that the remote entry
began to work like new.

Perhaps much like old light bulbs, old fuse's should be changed out once in
a while. I assume excessive resistance in the mount or across the fuse was
related to this issue. Any thoughts?

Richard.

You have a loose connection and changing the fuses wiggled it.

It's more likely that he reset a controller (BCM?) that needed
"re-booting" by pulling its fuse.

Since the OP never specified the year of the vehicle there is no way to
check for any TSB's that might apply to his vehicle

It is an 01 Limited. Remote entry still working like new since the fuse
change.
