hi i got a voyager 3.3 auto with a 4speed 41te(a604)tranny and i lost
reverse all of a sudden, drives forwards ok,i have changed the fluid and
fitler and i have removed and cleaned the valve body, i have had a scan
and no codes where pulled, the only problem seen was that the input rpms
when in reverse and idleing were about 650 and it should of been 0 (like
when it was in drive), all the clutch packs were change 2 and a half years
ago approx 6000miles a long with the geartrain, 3rd gear carrier, seals and
gaskets.

Yes.  The Sun gear is stripped or fractured.  Also known as the planetary
gear.
This requires a complete teardown and rebuild.

Sometimes this happens when people get stuck in the mud and start
pulling the old game of trying to shift rapidly from reverse to drive to
rock the vehicle out of the mud.  This trick will destroy these
transmissions
in very short order.

had that changed 2 & half yrs ago (6000mile), if it was the sun gear, i
guess it would of made a noise and metal pieces would be in the pan!!??,
but, there was no noise and just very fine paste like stuff on the
magnet.
it just stopped, also when in reverse, when i rev it up and then again it
backfires.
