2002 intrepid has transmission problems, but now it cuts out at about 2500 rpms around 65-70 mph if you push the gas it does it more,when you let off the gas and rpms go below 2500rpms or 65-70 mph it stops until you reach those rpms or mph. From your question, I'll bet the first thing you need to do is to buy a factory (not Haynes, not Chilton's, factory) service manual. Please better describe "transmission problems" and "cuts out" ... I myself have no idea what you are experiencing from your description. Also please provide the engine size, mileage, and maintenance history too if you want useful responses. Also not sure if that year has a replaceable fuel filter or not, but that also would be a possibility in my mind. The circumstances/situation you describe where you accelerate while already at high speed would call for a high volume of fuel and the symptoms you describe would seem to indict to a delivery problem. This could be related to the trans error codes, but also could be independent too.
