Is there a good documented procedure to remove a broken belt tensioner
on a 1993 Plymouth Voyager with a 3.3?

I have a subscription to Alldata, but this procedure is not
documented, at least that I can tell. I want to be ready for the next
time it breaks.

Does removing the right splash shield make it any easier?

Thanks,

Kirk Matheson

This is how I did it assuming yours has the internal reservoir power
steering pump like my 95 Grand Caravan and not the external reservoir pump
like my 92 Dynasty.  (With the belt removed) underneath the back of the
engine remove the brace that runs between the back of the pump and the
engine block then remove the single nut that holds the tensioner on.  As
usual reassembly is the reverse order just make sure you get the dimple on
the new tensioner lined up with the hole in the power steering bracket
before you tighten that nut back down or the belt tension won't be correct.
