. - 03 Apr 2006 10:57 GMT as subject, if you /could/ buy one how much would you be prepared to pay ? ball park figure.
mint condition, c50,000 miles, factory RHD, FSH, no rust, fully loaded with leather interior.
£5k ? £7.5k £10k ?
*and* is it possible to fit an activa system to a non activa V6 ?
serious questions.

Even an HDi Xant's worth no more than £3k.
Even at that, you're getting into early C5 money. Ten grand's approaching *facelift* (and that's 54-plate) v6 C5 territory... (If they've sold any)
Ten grand's not far off getting you into a new C5...

It's a very big engine in a small space. The rear plugs are a bastard on an XM, allegedly. Inlet manifold off.
The engine in my TCT XM has plenty of space around it. I've looked at the engine bay in a TCT Activa, and it scared me.

If you're meaning what's an Activa like, it's a Xant, but with a firm ride. But no body roll. And a tendency to forget where "level" is, and do a little dance at traffic lights.

I'd be surprised if you get away with less than £600.

And it's made by Ford. And it's got no suspension. <peers closely at post> f.ck. You can get WORSE suspension?
Oh, and if I want a car built by vikings, I'll have another one with the ignition key on the floor, ta.
drd - 09 Apr 2006 21:03 GMT >> unless you are particularly fond of les auto de France, > [quoted text clipped - 7 lines] > > But... but... but... it's a *filing cabinet*. wardrobe surely ?
> And it's made by Ford. err ... F*rd may own Volvo NOW but when the 850s were made they were most definately Svedish - and believe me when I say that Ford would sell Volvo if they could coz they wont play the F*rd game!! The Svedes hated being bought by F*rd and have continued to behave as if they weren't ... F*rd purchasing particularly have a hard time persuading Volvo to play the F*rd game ...
> And it's got no suspension. > <peers closely at post> f.ck. You can get WORSE suspension? lets keep it clean for phuqs sake ....
there's suspension for comfort, and there's suspension for spirited driving ... my Xant is comfortable, my Volvo was fast ....
> Oh, and if I want a car built by vikings, I'll have another one with > the ignition key on the floor, ta. s'amazing - put a key in the floor and you fool people into thinking a Vectra is actually a nice car .... GM have owned Saab for longer than F*rd have tried to own Volvo ...

I'd be v keen to try an Activa Xant - did they do a high output diesel with this as an option?

V6 activa would be a thing to behold, tho.
Adrian - 12 Apr 2006 18:35 GMT > I'd be v keen to try an Activa Xant - did they do a high output diesel > with this as an option? Not in the UK. RHD Activas were TurboCT only, but Europe got LHD HDi and v6.
