Dear All
I am writing to ask for help to solve a noise problem I have with my
Citroen Berlingo 1.9 LX Van. The van is 4 years old I purchased the van
3 months go low mileage. It runs well etc. However I have this annoying
noise from or near the passenger side of the dashboard, it with sounds
like a faulty blown exhaust. (Throaty side)
It sounds really awful at 20 to 32 mph when driving around town at low
speeds. It appears to be coming from the passenger side of the vehicle.
I believe it could be near the Air box. I have checked the clamp and
this is secure. I have cable tied the hoses to the frame. I have
checked the pipes and sealed any loose ones. I spoke to my local
Citroen garage and they called it the Berlingo syndrome and did not
offer a solution.
The noise is near the dashboard on passenger side. The dashboard is
tight and not loose. The noise seems to disappear at speeds above 30
mph or when the revs very low etc.
The air box seems secure but I have not looked inside it is only held
on with two screws. Any solutions or recommendations would be welcomed
and passed on to my Citroen garage.
Thank you in advance for any solutions.

Hi the later airboxes have clamps but all we do is drill in the middle of
the clamps and put a self tapper with washer on it saves paying for a new
box hth.
