OBD2 Compatibility

Hell to all

Can anyone advise on Citroen 2003 C5 OBD2 compatibility or confirm that the
generic OBD2 scanning tools will work with the C5.

From what I can gather so far, OBD2 is a standard and some reports suggest
that all cars from 1996 have met this, although this typically refers to the
American market.

These tools are £50/60 each which is the cost of a single read from a
garage. Buying one is then commercially viable as it can be used repeatedly
but only if it is compatible in the first place.

Any advice would be gratefully received

Thanks

Andrew

Petrol engines cars sold in the EU should be EOBD compatible from
2001, Diesel engines from 2004.
However, this does not always mean that the cheap readers will work
with all vehicles.

Nor does it mean that OBD standard readers will read every detail, only
the basics.
