Hi,

I am wondering if anyone can help, my 1992 V6 XM Si will not fire, it
is suspected the fuel pump is gone, but the immobiliser could be
responsible, I have the haynes book, but I could do with any
information on the wiring for the fuel pump

many thanks

Tony,

Can you give any more details?  What have you tried so far?  What other
symptoms?  What happened when it gave up?

Cheers

Hi CAS

I have tried the connections so far, but I could do with a wiring
diagram for the fuel pump and relay. I have 2 lives at the pump end
but cannot identify the wires. Also iam struggling to find the fuel
pump relay, under the bonnet as there are a few.

I have set the immobilser to unlocked permanently, the car ran fine
but would not start on finishing work. Any schematics would be more
than appreciated, as would any info.

Many Thanks

Tony

Should be easy enough to identify which... The immobiliser switches the
ignition off.

Are the plugs wet?
Is there a spark?

Have you tried putting a permanent +12v to the pump, instead of relying on
the switched from the ECU? The pump will be fed by a relay which is looking
for a signal that the engine's running. It'll run for a second or two before
the car starts, to get pressure up, but will then stop until the engine's
turning. Bypass that, then - if it works - investigate the wiring. If
there's still no fuel, investigate the pump and plumbing.

It's probably just the usual crappy contacts somewhere.

Hi

The plugs are sparking and the injectors are lifting, I have no wiring
diagram so I am unable to identify which wires on the ribbon to the
pump do what though there are two lives, any wiring info would be
greatly appreciated, also I have no idea which relay is the pump relay
any diagram/info would be greatly appreciated

thanks to all
