I would suggest the American "Humvee"

imperialism and stupid politics; its civilian version is "aspirational"

used as an 'image' for computer games and in conversation; and it is the
archetype of all the monstrous inconsiderate anti-social gas-guzzling
four-wheel-drive cars that are clogging city streets, crushing pedestrians
and smaller vehicles, ripping up the wilderness and desert, wasting
irreplaceable oil, and ... well, I don't like them  <hhmmpfff>.
