timing belt is about due on my xantia. first one its had since i've owned
the car, just looking for rough figures so i know what to expect when the
bill comes.

Also, clutch has never been great on it.  Whats the going rate for
replacement.

96N Xantia 1.9td lx

s'ok
most small garages near me do it for about 100 to 150 quid
main dealer would be about double that
its not a bad job to do one on your car, same as on my old 406 td and i did
that in about an hour and a half
allow for the fact that when its stripped the water pump may be showing
early signs of leakage
either way i cant see the job being beyond the capabilites of most of the
smaller garages

I had the belt done last year for about £120, the clutch was £250 inc
parts and labour at my local specialist about 2 months ago.

A few years ago Citroen wanted £450 for the clutch on a BX and
recently quoted me £350 for the cambelt.

Just to clarify, the work I had done recently was on a 1.9TD LX Xantia
and the Citroen cambelt quote was for the Xantia also.
