I'm assuming you have a diesel. The wait to start light is part of the
circuit with the heating grid. When you first start the engine, that light
will come on as required to put warm air into the cylinders. Only worry
about it if the engine is fully warmed up and the light is coming on. Then I
don't think it's anything too serious, likely the temp sensor in the circuit
itself. HTH
