Got a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 and the steering box is leaking. Anyone
ever have the problem and had to repair? I bought a repair kit but have
yet to tackle the job. Any tips before i do it?

Whets leaking on  it?  If it is the seal that is just above the Pittman arm
it is pretty easy to do, that is what normally leaks. once you remove the
arm and the lower c-clip just turn the steering wheel full to one side with
a pan under the seal and most of the time the pressure will just pop it out.
This makes it really easy. Then put some lube around the seal to reinstall
it.

Yes that's where it's leaking. I was told that I had to take the
steering box off. If I don't have to that's great!

Get a srevice manual. Save you hours of guess work. I have the same problem
right now, but it's not serious.
