I've found a little trick I use when hauling my 5th around, to check for a
low tire. I use an infrared thermometer. Just point and click. It tells
you the temperature of the sidewall if that is what you are pointing at and,
of course, that doesn't tell you what the pressure is, but when you take the
temp of all the tires, it tells a story. A low tire will generate more heat
than one that is pressured up to where it should be.
When traveling with the 5th, you should be checking your pressure every 200
miles or so. What a PITA if you have to get down and fiddle with the
pressure guage, cap etc... I use the model shown here
http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&category%5Fname=CTLG%5
F010%5F005%5F001%5F000&product%5Fid=22%2D325
or http://tinyurl.com/nznz for short. It is Radio Shack Catalog #: 22-325
and is on sale for $30, down from $50.
Works fine for me, YMMV.

I picked up at my John Deere dealer a infrared therometer with laser, to
check bearing temps on my combine.
This should also work on tires (wouldn't it??????)
Handy to take this to a niteclub and find hot women :)))))

If you _need_ one of those to find a hot woman, I don't know what to tell
you. ;-)
