I have a 2004 RAM 3500 with the Cummins H.O. Engine and 6-Speed HD trans.
What is the story on the torque? How can I tell if I have the 555lb-Ft
engine or the 600? Any ideas?

Left-hand (driver's) side of the black plastic valve cover (the one that
says Dodge Cummins 24V) is a white sticker.  The engine HP will be listed on
that.  305HP=555lb.ft., and 325HP=600lb.ft.

Virgil,
The 600 is the one with the firmware problems. The 555s are bulletproof.

Is this another urban legend? My 600 CTD was built in May of 04. I just
called the dealer, gave them my VIN number and they said there are NO
recalls or updates to this vehicle. Where did the info above come from?

It's from "sour grapes" I suppose. One dood told me be had a 5.9L Hemi when
I bought mine. I said, really. I didn't know they made a 5.9l Hemi. He said,
sure they do, you have to special order
them........AAAAAHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!

I laugh in his face, not to or around, but IN HIS FACE.
