Brake Controller Connection on '05' Ram

Can someone tell me where the connector is for an electric trailer
brake controller on a '05' Ram?  The owners manual states that it is
located under the dash to the left of the brake pedal.  It is discrebed
as a blue 4 pin connector.  I have the female connector that was
supplied (in a bag) with the truck, but I'll be darned if I can find
any connector that it mates up with.  The other thing I don't
understand is in the OM the last sentence regarding the location of the
connector it states that the connector maybe optional on vehicles with
the "trailer prep package" (which I have).  I was able to find the
switch box for the brake lights on a bracket attached to the brake
pedal.  Shouldn't that 4 pin blue connector be attached to that same
wiring somewhere?

My 02 Dak was there but I had to pry a pretty hefty wiring harness out of
the way ...

Ron,

Was it close to the fire wall or closer to the instrument panel?

As I recall it was between the brake pedal arm and the dash to left of
steering col'n.  Sorry not convenient to get to check right now, to look
I have to kneel on ground outside door and bend in backwards to be able
to look up in there and my garage is too tight to get door open far
enough :-)
I'm not particularly sure rams are the same as daks either....

On my '04 it was jammed behind the emergency brake assembly.

It's under the dash.  Find the big junction block on the firewall - the one
with all the wires running to it.  Check on top of the block, or possibly
tucked in behind it.  It's there.

They're trying to say that if you didn't have the trailer package, you won't
have this connector.  Since you have the trailer package, you have this (you
do have the factory tow package, and not some dealer-slapped-on receiver
hitch, right?)

On my O5 3500 it's right next to the arm of the emergency brake. There one
large wire harness with a white cover over it. To the left of that and
attached to the same wiring block is two smaller female connectors, the
lower one is the trailer hook up. If you ran your own blue wire from the
controller rear 7 pin connector to the cab, make sure you cut the blue wire
in the truck harness and splice it into the 4 pin connector we are talking
about there.
