Hi, I have a '04 full size 4WD pickup with the Hemi engine & a trailer
towing package. I went to the corner store today and on the way back
noticed that the ABS and brake warning lights were on. The brakes seem
to be working fine, but I also noticed the the speedometer was jumping
around by about 5 MPH even though my speed was steady. When I got home
I also noted that with the truck stopped & tranny in Park, when I push
the break pedal down the speedo will rise to 10 MPH and jump around 3
or 4 mph.
Has this happened to anyone else, or do you have any idea as to how I
would narrow the problem down? I would assume an electrical issue. It
is under warrenty still, but the dealer has a few day wait for service.
Thanks,
MikeB

Bert, is the MIL lamp on too. Ive run into this with bad VSS sensors, but
usually with a corresponding code. Drive with a scanner attatched, and look
at the speed indicator. Bet ya find it there....
