Greetings,

I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 QC, original cloth seats.  My dog sheds
like you wouldn't believe and I can't get the fur out.

I would like to replace the front with leather seats and the rear with
vinyl.  Any suggestions on where to look for a purchase?

Thanks,

David

A couple of things come to mind. Use a lint brush to get the fur off the
seats. You could also brush your dog more often.

Any junkyard in your area.

Roy,

Wow! I never thought of that!

Try taking two hours of constant lint brushing, taping, vacuuming every time
the dog is in the truck.  You want to do it for me?

I can brush this dog for an hour straight, and it never stops.

I would really prefer a retail establishment to purchase new seats, not
interested buying stuff melting in your back yard.

Hey..its YOUR dog, and YOU have it..
This is Usenet, where the people reading your post cant tell what you are
capable of...

Shave the f.cker.

He said YOUR local salvage yard, not that he had one.
Perhaps he was dead on the money with his assumption you didnt think to
brush the dog....its obvious you cant read.

Also, you might want to try a Google on this topic, since American Van and
other companies offer aftermarket seats, have for years, and most people can
use Google.

Also...for the record, I had a couple of brand spanking new ones, taken out
of a total that was towed in to the old mans shop, in leather...vehicle had
less than 3000 miles on it...you could have HAD them, but I guess now, I am
gonna retrofit em to a Ford.

Attitudes everything around here...difference is, I dont give a damn what
you think of me...

It would seem that there ate a bunch of things you never thought of.

That is somthing you could explore. Hire somebody to do what you seem
incapable of.

Something wrong with the dog??

Katzkin is a company in CA that manufactures aftermarket leather seat
covers. I would try a Google search and look for a dealer close to you.  It
ain't cheap.

Try a recreational vehicle dealer.

Also think about having your seats recovered by an
upholsterer. That might be the cheapest and best way to
solve the problem.

=====================
I would drive over to the local upholstery shop and price getting the
seats redone in vinyl ..
