check ball from the bottom of the fuel filler tube;

that sound right...so i put in back to float around in gas tank ..thats ok
.it wont hurt anything right..

Its supposed to stay contained in the filler tube.Any thing floating
around loose in tank could interfear with fuel pump module or your gas
gauge sending unit
