Can anyone tell me what the purpose of this tiny, insignificant jack is
supposed to be?? I finally took it out from underneath the passenger-side
seat and couldn't believe what I saw! I almost laughed my head off at Dodge
for even thinking of placing such a useless piece of hardware in such a
truck.

Just a wild guess here, To change tires when flat if so inclined???  :-)

Yeah, right! It won't even reach a jacking point, let alone jack the truck
up high enough to change a tire.

You can make fun of it if you want to but if it is the same one that they
used in the 97, it works just fine and doesn't waste a ton of space.

I guess you've never used it.   Maybe you should try before griping.  For it's size,
it does a pretty good job.

It won't even reach any jacking points, so how am I supposed to use it???
That is what I am griping about!

I've used mine on one occasion and it worked as intended, thank you very
much!  Your point is?????

It works but is a piece of junk.  On my 2000 stock 4x4 ram it would not
go up anywheres near high enough without a block under it.  Gimme the
old bumper jack of the old days!!  I have a small floor jack and use it
instead.
TBone - 13 Oct 2005 15:21 GMT
It sounds to me more like you didn't use it right.

Dah! How hard is it to use a bottle jack??? The thing can't even reach a
jacking point, let alone raise the truck high enough to change a tire!

Like I said, you simply don't know how to use it.  It can and does reach
what it needs to and if not, you are either not using it correctly or it is
defective.  Either way, I would either take a look in the users guide or
take it back to the dealer and let them either show you how to use it or
give you a complete unit.

lol,  typical boner answer.  The manual shows where to put the jack.  On
a stock 2000 1500 QC the OEM jack will not lift the back high enough to
get the wheel off....period.  You'll argue anything woncha?
TBone - 14 Oct 2005 03:21 GMT
My jack can lift ANY corner of the vehicle high enough to change a tire and
I do have oversized tires on mine.  Why would they put a useless jack in the
vehicle?  In your case, it sounds more like a defective operator than a
defective jack and if you know for a fact that it doesn't work, why didn't
you go back to the dealer to enquire about it?  Funny how Mike also
questioned this and yet, I don't see you whining to him, why not???

Sorry Miles, but I have probably forgotten more about these vehicles than
you will ever know and that becomes more and more obvious every time you
talk about them.  I don't claim to know everything or even more than most
but you are never able to answer anything I ask you about them.  Why is that
Miles?  Why can't you even answer any of these simple questions.  Looks to
me like something didn't work right the first time you attempted to use it
and with you, that's about as far as it went.  Tell me, did you storm off to
the store and buy one of those $100 mini floor jacks and tossed the factory
unit in the trash?  I bet that's what you did, LOL.

ROFL!!  This why people are constantly showing you wrong on just about
everything you say in here?  Somehow I don't think it's cuz you forgot
it all.

Tell me,  do you just bitch and whine about anything and everything for
no reason?  $100 for a mini floor jack?  Geez, cost of living must be
really bad where you live.

I keep hearing this but have yet to see much of it, when it comes to
vehicles anyway.  Sure, I have been wrong at times but so have others and
the real difference is that they don't lie in wait for an error with each
other like they do with me as made obvious in the Hemi-Spark Plug thread
where Max was Dead wrong on most of it yet when Mike does jump in, it is to
correct f.cking spelling errors from me, LOL.

IOW, I was right and yes, if I am going to buy a floor jack (even a mini
one), I am going to get one that i can trust my life with, not that $40 junk
that isn't much if any better than the original and BTW, if your truck has
some magical lift requirements that exceed the capability of the spare tire
jack, I really doubt that one of those $40 specials could lift it any
higher.

No, you just don't understand, pretty much as usual.

Pretty much.  It does the job it was intended for such as changing tires but
I wouldn't use it for service work, would you?  Oh, that's right, you don't
know how to use it at all.

Oh, and by the way pinhead, I did suggest that he look in the manual to make
sure that he was using it correctly and if he was, that he enquire with the
dealer to find out what is wrong.

Face it shade tree, Jerry's got you nailed.  Hell, even your headers are
just duplicates of the limited number of lame attacks that you try and use
on me.  The funny thing is that you are the one that is jumping, just like
now.  Now be a good little puppet and dance for me.

Hawkeye,
Check the part number with the dealer. Maybe you have the wrong jack.

Another boner response.

Mine worked fine, both front and rear. Try reading the instructions.
It's made to change tires, not replace an exhaust system.

There is NO way that this jack could even reach the jacking point on my
truck, let alone raise it any!
