there is no heat in van. thermostat may need replacing. If so what will it
cost to repair and how long long will it take to repair

Thermostats are around $10.00 (?) CA.  Should not take more than 1 hour max
to change it.

Not much to go on here ... but ... if thermostat was stuck closed the
engine would boil over.  If it is stuck open you should get SOME  heat
.. it just takes longer and may not be hot enough.

You may want to look elsewhere for the problem .. or give a better
description of the problem.

What is the engine temperature guage telling you??
