Dodge ram, 1999 1500.

How easy, hard is this job? Is it just unscrewing some bolts and
reconnecting the new one?

Thanks

Essentially...  there's a couple of "tricks" involved.  First, disconnect
the battery, then remove the upper and lower shrouds from the column.  Next,
remove the lock cylinder.  Put the key in and turn it to 'RUN'.  There is a
retaining pin that holds the cylinder in place.  Push this pin in while
pulling on the key, and the cylinder will come out.

Now you can remove the ignition switch.  You'll need a security Torx bit
(has a hole in the center, to fit the pin in the middle of the Torx screw
head) to remove one of the mounting screws.  Then push in on the locking
tab, and pull the ignition switch out.
