Never mind the cake... who brought the beer?! =)
azwiley1 - 21 Feb 2006 04:54 GMT
I got the beer and I am drinking one now, toasting these two people I
consider friends on their B-day.  Let's see, this make Nate what, about 75
and Budd about 30?  <VBFG>

It's yours too, ya big bag of overdeveloped muscle. <VBG>

Hope ya had a good one. I did. I got some parts for my old motor scooter,

I have been doing ok, healh wise.
Farming has been the sh.ts, poor poor grain prices.

Here's a joke:

My farming neighbour friend took a thousand dollars out of his bank account
all in loonies (our dollar coin is called a loonie).
I seen him standing on a busy street corner with a lot of people gathered
around him. I went over to see what was going on.

Here the fool had set up a money exchange. He was selling his $1 coins for
75ยข. Man, did he have a line up.
I asked him what was he thinking of. How in the hell are you making any
money doing this.

He looked at me and says:

This is better then farming :))))

Compared to the two ol' boys I saw buying melons for a $1 each and selling
them for $0.50 each, he _was_ making a fortune!

Sorry to hear about the grain prices. I think US farmers have been doing
poorly as well.

My health has been better of late, but I think it's because I've lost about
50 pounds . . . .and no, I don't plan to go looking for them. <VBG>

Ya know, as I wrote those words I just knew someone would have to make a
disparaging crack about it. Thanks for being predictable, as always.

What is it, Tom? Is it that guys like you can't stand to hear of another
person's successes or achievements? Are you going to use the comment against
me in the future claiming I was whining about it when all it really was is a
report to an old friend in the group about my current health? I know you
have used my admissions to physical limitations due to my health as you have
called "whining", so what will you do with this?

Don't worry, I won't accuse you on honesty no matter how you respond.

of all the people i have ever been around, even just on a ng, you are
the most likely to blow an o-ring.  tom was making a joke and you have
to take it personally.

first, the joke was a common one, i have heard people say that same
thing, tongue in cheek many times.  even you should have realized
that..........but no, you are always just spoinling for a fight.  of
course, you can never finish the fight because you end up whining like
a baby.

anyway, back to my point.  stop acting like like an ignorant fool.  it
never hurts to laugh a little, even if you think you might be laughing
at yourself.

Wrong, wrong, wrong. You and Tom have taken a simple report on the status of
my health and a mention of physical limitations and turned it into an insult
directed towards me.

It shows the depths of your intolerance and uncaring attitudes.

Darn it, Mike!!!! How many times do I have to put up with their crap about
my health??????

But then they're not calling anyone else names, are they? Making fun of
their physical limitations, etc. just because they admitted to some physical
limitations, aches and pains, reported their health condition to friends
when asked.

i have no f.cking clue as to what you are talking about when you whine
about people making fun of your health and that type of sh.t.  but
never the less, if you don't want it discussed or mentioned, two
pieces of advise for you:

1.  quit talking about it.  you seem to be the only one that brings it
up.  you seem to be the only one that even notices the f.cking issue.
you do it, you bring it up, you discuss it and then you whine about it
being brought up.  no brainer here.  stop bringing it up.  you could
not be more stupid budd.

2.  stop bringing it up on a public news group.  do you realise that
anyone can read the sh.t posted here?  has that ever occurred to you?
it is a public news group budd.  think about that.  no password
required to get on.  you bring it up in a public newsgroup, it is
pretty much fair game.  you brought it up.  you make it an issue.  you
getting the picture yet?

I only mention it when one of you two decide to start with the insults. That
you are in denial of your guilt is obvious.

Gee, mr nobody (since you refuse to identify yourself, that's who you are to
me, nobody), shove it someplace dark and smelly. I know very well what this
group is. Do you? Do you realize the scope of every insult you make towards
me on an international scale?

Yes, I know that if I tell a friend about a health problem that it's
broadcast internationally. Do you think your intolerance is only read here
in the States? Guess what? I don't put anything on these pixels that I need
worry about. I have nothing to hide.

Fair Game??? To whom? It woild only be fair game to those that take delight
in another's suffering or anguish.

Yes, at one time, I considered your's and Tom's remarks to be teases, but
you both went beyond that, and that's were things are today.
Congratulations, I'm your fault, and Tom's.

You are not me, so how can you presume to decide how "old" I should be or
how I should feel? How dare you! Get out and look around you. There are
people much younger than me that are much "older", healthwise, than I due to
their own infimities.

And yes, I have told you what my health problems are, but your poor memory
seems to select what it will retain.

How odd it is that you can remember to call me stupid, a person with a
victim mentality, and not remember my infirmities.

Btw, where did you get your degree in psychology? Cracker Jacks box?

Ah, yes, I forget, _YOU_ never are in error. That's why whenever anyone

Of course, to you, defending oneself is what you call "whining", just so you

It is not paranoia, just intelligence.  There are some in here with a
sufficiently low enough noise level such as Tom L  and Mac that can use
their real names with a fair amount of safety but I am the first to admit
that I am not one of them but am trying to move more toward that type but in

of UseNet it simply is not worth the risk.  The thing is Budd that you

LOL, and everything else you say says different.  It is ok for "friends" to

For identity theft, maybe.  That would depend on what they were after now,

Prime reason for ID theft: money. That outweighs the rest by several times.

My bank gets notified if I'm leaving town or making a large purchase and

Mac, I do appreciate your advice. I'm sorry it embarrasses you and the
others. It embarrasses me as well because I ask no more than they ask for
themselves, to be respected for who they are, and they cannot do it. I'm
ashamed there are such individuals in this world with all the communication
available.

I will try to ignore them in the future. My friends are more important to me
than my enemies, though I would rather have all friends and no enemies.

Just another lie.  You are the one that makes your enemies.  Theguy has done
nothing to you and yet you call him one for no valid reason.  Why is that
Budd?  Even I have tried multiple times to put an end to these childish
actions but when you reply, it is always with some type of insult and if I
reply in kind, then you whine and cry again that I'm insulting you.  If you
want only friends, then the first step has to start with you.  Lets see if
that ever happens.

Sure you can Budd, by ignoring the people that you don't want to hear from
and not replying every chance you get, just like in the real world.

In what way?  By not agreeing with you on every issue?  Like I said, you
have no clue what friend really means.

Yep, but this is not an answer to the question.

No, you pretty much ignored what they had to say and just went about

Yes it does and many times you have claimed that you are on disability do to
your health and that Medicade does not fully cover your medications.  You
have also stated many times the size and location of your home and your
description does not indicate a huge estate.  As you say, the primary reason
for ID theft is Money and you have indicated many times that you are not a
good target for that so as I said, your risk level is several times lower.

It really doesn't.  Unless your credit rating is quite low, with the proper
information someone could apply for and get another credit card with your
name on it and max it out before you knew anything about it.

If someone is determined to find my name, I'm sure that they could but why

Of course he is, probably much more so.  I just made a simple joke in the

According to an unaccredited, amateur psychologist. The quote fit the point
being made, so you object to the source? And you claim to have never bashed
my religious beliefs. "Thou Viper!!! Hypocrite!!!!!!" (Jesus of Nazareth,

Budd, it was a joke, not a original one, but still a joke. Try taking it for

Roy,

In spite of our differences, and maybe because of them, I do consider you to
be a friend and I appreciate the advice. Thank you.

However, "T-Bone" and "theguy" are not friends as they continue to prove
daily. So, I can never accept much of anything they write as a joke or as
good advice. I would not ask them to do so, it is their choice in the end.

I'll probably catch flack for telling you in public forum from those two,
but here it is:

As a Type 2 Diabetic, diet is important to controlling my blood sugars. For
example, normal Blood Glucose ( BG's, Denny, not BS. I measure my BG's)
ranges from 85-120. Diabetes is when your body, because of lack of insulin
( Type 1) or inability to process insulin ( Type 2) cannot deliver glucose
to your cells, so it goes into fat. And if your BG's go over 140, for
example, your body stops healing itself and, yes, that can be deadly. When I
was diagnosed, my BG's were in the high 600's. I should have been in a coma.

I watch what I eat these days, but more importantly, I watch how much. I'm
heavy into proteins (meats and lentils, but not the Atkins' Diet) and zero
carb vegetables and restrict high carb foods like potatoes and 99% of the
snack foods. Heart health and Diabetes have strong links as well, since LDL
Cholesterol moves the glucose to the cells for the insulin to process and
then HDL Cholesterol scrubs it out of the arteries.

I use Splenda (I'm allergic to all the others) in place of 90% of my sugar.
Some sugar in processed and canned food is unavoidable, so read the labels
and go for low carb and sugars / high fiber foods. Dietary fiber is a
carbohydrate, but an indigestible carb. You subtract it from the total carbs
to find net carbs. I consume about 2000 calories a day now or less, as
compared to 6000+ three years ago.

Then I exercise as much as time, weather, and general aches and pains allow.
I am finally getting my car back together because cold weather and arthritis
has limited how long I can be outside (no garage, just an awning type
carport). I walk as much as I can and my younger brother and I go fishing,
which means long walks around the lake ( about 40 acres surface area)
between stops for vigorous fishing (caught 6 Rainbows yesterday, largest
about 3 pounds). The point is you don't need Tai-Bo, or Bowflex or anything,
just get out and do something. Keep busy.

The 50 pounds lost isn't quite right. When I was diagnosed, I weighed 307
pounds. I weighed myself yesterday ( I get my weight only a couple times a
week) at 249. By summers end, I'm shooting for 210.

This morning, my Glucose was low enough to give myself a treat: toaster
waffles with butter and 2 tablespoons of real Mrs. Butterworth's syrup, two
eggs (over easy, please), and two strips of bacon. Yes, it was way over my
limit of 45 carbs for breakfast, but lunch is almost always under on carbs
(45 allowed, I'll probably have 20-30). My normal breakfast, two eggs, two
slices of toast, coffee / milk / Splenda, comes to 25-27 carbs.

Email me if you have any questions. That goes for anyone. I'm not an expert,
but I've learned an awful lot in two years.

When I see  a <G>,<BG>,<GBG>,<GBFG>, <GBMFG>, or anything along those lines
I figure what has been written has been done so in jest. No matter who
writes it.

Sounds a little bit of the south beach diet. I tried a modified Akins and
found that to be able to put in 16 hours days and live on 4 hours sleep I
needed all the carbs and caffiene. Now, this year as I've aged a bit I find
that if I knock of the junk food, snack stuff and the crap that you know
isn't really good for you I can at least maintain. (Boy, I can picture Denny
and mac all over this. Friggin' jackals).
Also as I get older I find that my appetite isn't what it was few years ago.

Exercise! Yup, that is the thing. I can't stay on a tread mill, I'm bored to
tears in about 5 minutes. Around here from Nov. to April  I don't want to be
out walking around freezeing my a.s off. Friends of mine that work inside
all year think it is the the balls to go for a 2 mile walk when it is 10
above. I work outside all year, the last friggin thing I want to do is spend
more time outside in the damn cold.
Actually it has gotton to the point that when I can retire in about 13
months I'm thinking really hard about moving to Florida. At least there you
can venture outside in the winter. In fact I had this house appraised Sat.
so I'd know where the hell I was as to market value. Problem is that my wife
is 10 years younger and will have to come up with a teaching job in Fla.
Also My mother would have to be moved from the assisted liveing that she is
in and I would have to get her into one down there. I'm sure it is all
doable.

Seems that you shoul make it.. You have a program going that appears to work
well for you.

Congratulations.

Sorry, Roy, but from those two, those acronyms mean nothing to me based on
their past treatments of me. It's like back when we were kids, if I punched
you on the shoulder everytime I walked by, you would be surprised and
cautious if I didn't punch your shoulder.

From talking with other Diabetics and my doctor, it's just eating like we
should have a long time ago. Type-2 Diabetes, otoh, shows strong signs of
being genetic and a major cause of heart diseases, which signs are also
surfacing that those are genetic as well.

Thanks. I'm not a quitter, but I may suffer a "setback" or two on the way. I
did have a little discouragement back when I was first diagnosed and it was
added on top of all the rest of my health issues, but I'm back on my feet
and doing the best I can.

210 is what I weighed at my best strength back at age 35. At that time, I
could walk off with a crosstie on each shoulder. Since you're a railroader,
you probably know what a pair of them with most of their creosote weigh.

In case you're wondering, I was setting up a mobile home on a grid work of
ties and concrete blocks to keep it from settling in the Adobe` clay soil.
