Just got it back from the dealer after a trans cooler install.
No burnt fluid or other problems reported from the dealer.

Thanks for the info on the liner. I'll look into it.
Seems to be wind noise I'd guess then.
Thanks for the reply.

What else did the dealer do? The only way I could see the cooler
solving your problems is if you had an original cooler that had a
blockage. Change the fluid every 20K and use only ATF+4. Did the
dealer drop the pan and change the filter?

The cooler was installed after the problem, (and it still happens),
and I only installed it to tow a travel trailer, not to fix the problem.

Damn good question. They claimed the fluid wasn't burnt,
but they could have just pulled the dipstick. My invoice does not give
any detail about dropping the pan etc... I'll have to call them.
Their response was
"We aren't sure why it happens. Come by when it does."
Problem is it lasts for 15-20 seconds and they're 2 minutes away.
Lately it occurs right after the first start in the morning. Temp is
3 - 8 degrees (Canadian:)
Thanks again for your info and reply.

Well, no pan was dropped, and only fluid was replaced when the
cooler was installed.
I see there are similar posts in the other alt.autos.dodge.xxxxxx groups.
I'll watch there too.
