HELP ! needed for 97 Dodge 1500

Im looking to buy a 97 dodge 1500 from a guy that says when it rains the
CHECK ENGINE light comes on and then it runs like crap,it has a V-8
engine ,auto trans,short bed truck,Please help ASAP if ANYONE knows what

Okay... something electronic is getting wet, and causing the engine perform
poorly.

With the obvious answer out of the way... no one could offer anything more
than SWAG's as to what's wrong without knowing the codes that are stored.

If you can post back what you see, it would help narrow the list of
potential problems
