1999 dodge pu

i have a 5.2 v8 5 sp.my problem is every so often the temp gage goes to max
hot but blows cold air.turn ig on off several times it settles down to
normal & blows hot air.any help would be appreciated. thanks

Sounds like you have air in your cooling system somewhere.
Try bleeding the air out and see if that takes care of it.

Low on coolant. Make sure you have all the air out when you fill it.
